Makeup Brush Cleaning Tips You Deserve To Know!
#1
YOU DON’T WANT TO SUBMERGE YOUR BRUSHES IN WATER
Contrary to popular belief when deep cleaning your makeup brushes you don’t want to soak them in a bowl of water. In between the bristles and the handle you have an area called the Ferrule. This is where the glue secures and holds the bristles in place — but when this area is submerged in water the glue loosens, causing the bristles to detach and fall out.

THERE ARE BRUSH CLEANERS THAT DON’T REQUIRE WATER!
Yes girl, you read that right! There are brush cleaners that don’t require you to use water — which means you can clean and use your brush immediately — because let’s be real, we don’t always have 12 hours to let our brushes sit and dry before we need to use them!! This is my absolute fave “no water needed” brush cleaner! At the end of this post I have a video showing you exactly how easy it is to use.
PRO TIP: This is also a GREAT option for when you want to use the same brush back to back for different products or shades.

THE BEST WAY TO LET YOUR MAKEUP BRUSHES DRY IS BY HANGING THEM UPSIDE DOWN.
If you lay your brushes flat on a towel to dry, you’re not alone. That seems like the rational thing to do — that’s what I used to do for many years too. But as I was doing that I started to notice my brushes were losing their original shape.
So to prevent that from happening to your brushes what you want to do is hang them upside down to dry with a holder like this one
Or if you want to save money you can simply lay your brushes with the handles on the towel while allowing the bristles to hang over the edge of your bathroom counter or sink (as shown in this photo).
PRO TIP: This also helps prevent any water from seeping into the Ferrule (where your bristles are glued to the handle)
